CRYING ROOM. What’s this you ask?

When this hall was built in 1956 and movies planned, the Crying Room was built for parents and children to sit and watch the featured movie without annoying all other attendees by crying talking voices. It is suggested this room also was a place enjoyed by young love and familiarisation activities!!! The Crying Room is now a wonderful kitchenette opening onto the main auditorium where serving food or acting as a bar during events is importantly available. Including 2 fridges, electric stove, microwave, dishwasher, kettle crockery, cutlery, large number of glasses and bar requirements. Everything at your fingertips. Just raise the screen and off you start.

Setting up your event is simple.. everything you require from the most comfortable padded seating, simple light plastic chairs to old original flip seat banks of 5 seats, Table choice from small and large round to old and new trestle tables set up to your desired plan. Table cloths available for hire.

Cafe Corryong Brew

Café Corryong Brew is the pride of this facility situated in hall foyer. This area was once unloved and unwelcoming. Retired Corryong College teacher Helen Marshall leases these premises employing great young staff focusing on the nurture of College hospitality students allowing them to gain experience and self-confidence.

Coffee is the best in town along with a vast range of inexpensive healthy food. Seating on the Balcony where you watch activity below, admire the street business building architecture or gaze out to Mt Mittamatite and marvel at its recovery from devastating fire.

Adorning the walls of Café Corryong Brew are Information panels of the History of this remarkable place. Well worth a read. Words by Historian and committee member John Murphy.

This establishment has drawn life into this facility enabling greater socialisation within the community of all ages but in particular our older retired neighbours.

RSL Hall

Connected internally by a set of steps and externally via Donaldson Street this hall was constructed by volunteers and fundraising, built as the supper room to the Memorial hall to make way for the demolition of the old Athenaeum Hall.

This hall has been the home of the Corryong RSL sub branch and remains so since construction.  Housing a brilliant amount of memorabilia relating to conflicts and the local persons contributing to the freedom we enjoy today many paying the Extreme Sacrifice.

Falling into disrepair, works have recently been undertaken with the upgraded fully functional kitchen, acoustic ceiling works and swish new bathrooms returning to its glory days.

This facility is for hire either as complete or individual rooms. With comfy seating, air-conditioning and great lighting why would you go past it? And reasonably priced…

The main room is The Dance Studio so called because of its major function and home of UM Dance, End wall is lined with mirrors supporting dance, exercise classes and other events.

Audio Visual equipment 85” Hisense Smart TV Wall mount. Shared projector with Memorial hall.
